Antigenicity of Sodium Hyaluronate in Guinea Pigs, Mice and Rats

Abstract
|
|
|
The Antigenicity of sodium hyaluronate was investigated in mice, guinea pigs and rats. Antigenicity tests-active systemic anaphylaxis(ASA), passive cutaneous anaphylaxis of this material were performed according to the Established Regulation of Korean National Institute of Safety Research(1994. 4. 14).
The reaults were followed :
1. After sensitization with sodium hyaluronate emulsified with complete Freund´s adjuvant(ChA), guinea pigs didn´t show any anaphylatic shock symptom in the ASA test.
2. After injection with antisera of sodium hyaluronate senstized mice, no blue spots were observed tin the hypodermis of back of rats in the PCA test.
From the results of this investigation, the antigenicity of sodium hyaluronate was negative under the present experimental condition.
